Towards the end of 2018, we played host to one of the most epic conferences that we’ve ever had, well we like to think so anyway. Designed as an incentive program with some mandatory conference sessions thrown in, this really was a special and unique way to thank their high achievers.

So….who was this client you may ask?

Sorry…that’s confidential but they were happy for us to share the details on how they created one of the most fun events that we’ve ever been able to help deliver!

Want to know how they spent 3 days in Hobart? Take a look for yourself.

Day One

Wanting to wow delegates from the moment they stepped off the planes, the group was separated into small teams with the VIPs (the highest achievers) whisked off to enjoy a scenic helicopter tour of Hobart.  Landing on the lawns of Frogmore Creek Winery, these lucky delegates were then reunited with the rest of their team for a relaxed lunch at one of Tasmania’s premier wineries.

Whilst some were soaring through the skies, the rest of the group were happily on solid ground. A short trip from the airport to lunch, each team had the chance to experience their own bit of Tasmania. Whilst not quite as elevated as a helicopter tour, the groups weren’t disappointed once they headed off to experiences such as a Sullivan’s Cove Whisky Tour, a cheese & chocolate experience at Coal River Farm or to Barilla Bay where they did a quick tour of the oyster farms whilst enjoying freshly shucked oysters.

Following lunch, the group made the short commute into the city to check into their rooms with us.

After a break to refresh, the group then made the 7-minute walk to the Brooke Street Pier where they boarded the MONA ROMA and headed to MONA for the evening.  Starting with a sneaky wine or beer on board the Ferry, the group were then treated to a private museum experience followed by dinner on the lawns thanks to the spectacular Heavy Metal Kitchen.  From what we hear, the entertainment was everything you’d expect from a venue like this!

Day Two

It can’t be all fun when you’re on business, so day two saw the group spend the full day in conference sessions.  Don’t worry, we made sure the catering options were plentiful and Tasmania and that the coffee was flowing to keep them awake!

Once the serious side of the day was done, the group split into teams once again to head out to enjoy some of Hobart’s best restaurants such as Frank, The Glass House, Suzie Lucks and new bar, The Den.

Day Three

Kicking off day three was an in house breakfast session featuring an inspirational speaker to get the group revved up for the day ahead.  Once all the mandatory learning was done, the group then headed off to enjoy some team building and some of that amazing, fresh & clean Tasmanian air in the Huon Valley.

Our friends at Aardvark Adventures love groups with a sense of adventure and fun so this group were the perfect fit for Phil and his team.  After a day spent abseiling, mountain biking, kayaking and jet boat riding the group returned back to the hotel ready for a nap!

No rest for this group though as they made the short walk to Princes Wharf 1 (PW1) for their Gala Dinner & Awards Night.

Day Four

After a packed few days experiencing Hobart and its surrounds, the group set off to the airport mid-morning ready to head back to reality and to share their incredible experience with their colleagues.

A Little Extra Something(s)

As if three days in Hobart weren’t enough, delegates were welcomed back to their rooms each night with a little gift of appreciation.  All gifts were 100% Tasmanian, further adding to their experience.  So what did they receive?    A 200ml bottle of McHenry’s Gin, Cape Grim water, Tasmanian Chocolates, Hasa Hands (wooded salad servers) and lavender heat packs.  Certainly beats the standard gift of a branded jacket, bag and hat!

We think it’s pretty safe to say that this group had an amazing time in Hobart.  Need ideas on how you can create a WOW program in Hobart for your event? Then contact our Sales Team.
